West Kelowna has one of the most concentrated winery stretches in the Okanagan. Some of these spots are close enough to walk between (responsibly). Others sit up the hillside with views that make you forget you were looking for the tasting room.

MY TOP 10, AND WHY
1. Frind Estate Winery
My fav winery of all time! It's the only beachfront winery in North America, and pizza under the canopy after a tasting is the way to go.
2. Quails' Gate
My first winery ever! Old Vines Foch on the patio with Okanagan Lake in front of you is one of the best afternoons this valley has.
3. Crown & Thieves
From the rooftop to the basement, it's all a vibe. Charcuterie on the rooftop looking west, a tasting on the main floor and a speakeasy downstairs.
4. Volcanic Hills
This one sits across from an actual volcano 🌋 and grows its grapes in volcanic soil. They also do sabering if you're into that (book ahead).
5. Black Swift Vineyards
Do the private tasting called the Walnut Grove Vineyard Tour. You won't regret it, and it's great for small celebrations.
6. The Hatch
The label art alone is worth the stop. Grab lunch from the chicken food truck on site and make an afternoon of it.
7. Mt. Boucherie
A family estate named after the old volcano, with a relaxed tasting room and a patio worth lingering on.
8. Grizzli Winery
Come for the lake view, stay for the ice wine. It's my favourite pour here, and I always leave with a bottle.
9. Little Straw Vineyards
Friendly, easygoing and family-run, with an authentic Indian restaurant right on the property. Pair your tasting with lunch.
10. Off the Grid Organic Winery
Organic wine, solar power and rescue goats wandering the property. The most fun stop on the list.
Want to skip the designated driver? Three of these (Black Swift, The Hatch and Crown & Thieves) are on the JPC Trail, and the hop-on hop-off shuttle picks up in downtown Kelowna.
West Kelowna is easy to underestimate because it's right across the bridge.
